YR #082 :: Nightfall EPVowthorn survives a digital holocaust and emerges from the dark depths of a harddisc crash to bring us this perspective on humanity. The coming of a new dawn, the glooming first sunrays of a new era perhaps. Nightfall is a seven track EP of bloodboiling electronica, intelligent beatwork, experimental soundscaping and an ambience of interluding apocalypse. www.yomirecords.comFeedback highly appreciated, which is the point of this whole fekkin topic ofcourse

Okay okay.. I'll get that ball rollin, alright..?
Jerusalem Nails - Great ambience, that oriental touch give the track a cool dark touch.. works good as an intro, especially since the beatwork isn't so intense that it pushes itself towards some climax.
Archive - You can feel this track bubbling and growing with a howling distortion.. Creeps up my spine like the first waves of an acid frenzy.. nice work! Though I feel this track is kind of repetitive, it interludes the EP in a great way
Bridge - Amazing beatwork there..! I now hear what you meant by a more darker and harder style. Pounding intelligence over an ambience so foul, cruel and bad-tempered.. wooyeah !
Machine Made - Yeah, the logical sequel to Bridge, it takes the vibe to the next level.. Great build-up in the intro, with the vocal. Even though it is more mellow, every single tone in this track is pure evil which actually makes it one of the more intense tracks on the EP. Love this one!
Man Pig - Definately my fave on the EP..! It scetches the overall mood of the EP in one track by representing your amazing beatwork, your ability to soundscape something this evil and all this with a great fookin composition which accents each and every second of drilling agression. Excellent vibe is going on in this track, big up!!
The New Word Order - More "easy going" and kinda more "sophisticated" in sound which lets the listener get a grip on reality for a bit more again. Still handles a very cool vibe and the rythms of both the percussion as well as the backing ambience boost the track's sound a lot. Love the beats in this track, pounding and solid as a farkin rock.
One Zero - More ambient track for the outro.. Short but very expressive melodics alongside a farkin hard beatwork make this track sound like the end of all things itself. The ambience is very strong in this piece and shit.. great use of filtering!
This EP is a ride, a trip in itself.. Humanity from your perspective as you sayd yourself. I fukkin LOVE this EP !! Probably one of your best to date.. well, at least my fave from you, hah..!

heya, ok I wont enter in the details for this feedback coz I'm in hurry and will be till september.. I had the time to listen to the whole thing and as usual with vowthorn I pretty much liked the whole of it. Some things that disappointed me a bit : I can't stand 909 anymore (Jerusalem Nails) and I think the hit hats kill the track (but I think to that if they are here it's because they are supposed to be here too.. The overall color is dark and very strong but the fact that almost all the tracks have the same color diminishes the overall impact of the EP. I was very happy to listen to man pig, and I agree with BotB : it's the best track of this EP. In fact my favourites are man pig and new word order. Vowthorn, I think you're improving your style and it sounds really really good, but try not to stay in the same mood. Give us some more break beat please!! seeya nogo
