1. Our releases-site are bloated with stuff, i don't think many labels have made it to release #091. Trust me, adding something to the release page every 2/3 days isn't a good idea 2. that is because we aren't members of that label group on yahoo, but if you look around the net more often outside that yahoo group, you'll see glimps of yomi spam have a nice day EDIT: and provide us from a m3d-banner/taggy I dont think botb will be able to update things for a while (internal hardware implosions)

ok, i trust u spam well enough the label looks great and sounds great either way, i didn't know if you all were ignorant of the yahoo group or choose not to spam there. hmm, as far as wiki releases go, it might be possible to update that all at once. but in reality i know it's a lot of bitch work, i only added my own net label this weekend and certainly don't have releases up! anyway, this forum is just as good or better for discussing releases, it seems active enough ;D i can't tell, did you want an mp3death banner? i made one a while ago for random, 88x31 pix ... mp3death.us/perm/88x31banner.gifor were you saying something else???

spam spam spam ..
yeah, how evil it is and yet how vital .. it's an everytime struggle to find that perfect balance between letting people know you're alive and shoving it down their throats ..
but.. please consider this ..
the net is loaded with netlabels, net artists, portal sites and wotnots .. thousands and thousands of people just SCREAMING for that single second of attention from the everyday internet user. within this ever-vibrant subworld, Yomi resides ..
and believe it or not (I myself sometimes hardly believe it anyways) but Yomi gots the folks by the balls, simply because we offer something that nobody else can offer. don't ask me how because I don't know, but mayhaps it is the virus within the music.. like the artist's soul that roams online for free with only the intention to be ..
yeah.. to be what .. ?
perhaps the question is what Yomi is NOT. because we are no mainstream scene netlabel. we are simply a cryout towards ourselves, like a musical mirror reflecting that what we subconciousiously treasure the most: our soul
and I prefer not selling those. for some odd reason, people find us instead. and as Vowthorn can say it so direct: you need to hear it to hate it.

yeah, that's definitly interesting! i agree that people who hunt a label like this down are the interested, involved sort of people i like seeing around ... and one of the reasons i submited my ep to yomi was the forum ... the importance of interacting with other artists and people who truely listen to music is important to me, and that looks like what is going on here ;D spamming is the part i hate most about running a label, it's such crap work! but i think that it in the congested internet world, people are so used to having shit slammed in their throats, the effect isn't the same on a mailing list dedicated to listing net label releases, or a site like scene.org where people go to hunt down the spam. they are eating the spam in their own interest, and contributing to the mayham of links only aids can only help those people hunt you down i agree that the music here is unique, it's dark but not without a sense of humor, etc ... a very good niche, there are other hardcore labels but those seem to be mostly gabber ... another reason i'm glad torronkid was accepted here you're right, souls are not to be sold, but as i said visibility where people are looking to HUNT labels can't be a bad thing. i don't get what the hate to be heard quote means here, but i like the sound of it haha

Anyways, spam doesnt work anymore, the netlabel world is only heralded by Thinner and friends , who effectively monopolised the netlabel world by having people at de-bug now only reviewing Thinner and friends music ( clever music, auto plate, Epsilon lab, textone ), people at phlow.net only reviewing their stuff too. They do not help our community and in stead of helping out by spamming the other netlabels, they say that netlabels are shit. So no wonder they got all the downloads, the fans and the attention. Epsilon Lab, a montreal netlabel, was in a magazine here, and they said they were the only montreal label, and when asked to give links to other netlabels, linked thinner, autoplate and clever music hahaha. Now talk about being pretentious.
So yeah, be yourselves, fuck trying to spam inside the scene, no one will care if its not thinner and friends.

vizion: while it may be true about thinner being elitests (no idea, don't talk to them): the lobit scene is doing the same for itself: us guy have been interviewed different places and mentioned each other, are making some compilations to distro as a colective, etc ...
while u can look at thinner and blame them for being popular cuz they make house music, that's fine ... but if u don't look out for your friends, who will you look out for?! they couldn't list of every label in the world!
the reason i started this whole thread is because i run a mailing list on yahoo groups that hundreds of willing people are subscribed to, looking for new sounds. some are label heads, artists, etc ... some are just curious music lovers, but either way--yomi spam would be welcome there and i think there are a few heads there who would want to hit this shit!
along the lines of finding true fans of music and lovers--even if sending a mail to net_label_releases only reminds 3 people that yomi's being active, and to check the site, that's good right?
i don't think spam is inherintly evil and i dont' think it prevents u from making great music from your sould or communicating to good people

You're the admin of net_label_releases ? cool i use it a lot and am suscribed to it. You know, that's cool, that respectful of the community. But saying thinner can't link every other netlabel, i know. But they speak of it demeaningly, and only spam their own friends. That is bad. Kahvi is just as popular and i'm not telling them off one bit. They are different, they know that they are fortunate to be up there and use it to help the community as best they can. Where as thinner doesnt.

yeah i run NLR, i like it there plenty of good people! thats why i think yomi should join in there ;D ok, i didn't realize about thinner's behavior. i don't follow media much, mostly just the music. i don't really like all that housey stuff, in that genre i'm only into microsound/field recording type stuff like unfoundsound releases ... hmm. i think i see the difference tho... nik @ kahvi is a real nice guy! it's almost like two scenes ... those birthed out of the old/mod scene and then the nu labels ... but not all the nu labels have a bad spirit like thinner. i dunno!

it's as if the people who release house have a certain misguided opinion that all netlabels release shit cuz it's not what's playing in the german clubs. It's evident that they do not care for the scene, contrary to the netlabels stem from the demoscene and trackerscene, who really know that it is *needed* to support and be supported by the scene.

fah: the question is where to publish such an article ... fuck, i even wrote a letter to micheal upton about this recent article @ igloo mag as he was writing it, reminding him the lobitrate scene existed, fucking left it out. then again, he had only so much time to check material out. he could have at least mentioned fluxus/punk/etc bitrate terror existing. btw, i think debug isn't as one-sided as you think, this is the second thing of mine they've reviewed: www.de-bug.de/cgi-bin/debug.pl?what=show&part=review&search=text&keyword=20kbps&ID=23172i can't read german so i have no idea if it's good or bad ;D

i can read German good enough to atleast understand 80% of it, but i'm too tired and bothered to read the whole article... I don't really think its that negative or something as i read quickly over the text

i was talking to the people in the de:Bug room on slsk [,kay, nien, dee,] is this review negative? [,kay, nien, dee,] www.de-bug.de/cgi-bin/debug.pl?what=show&part=review&search=text&keyword=20kbps&ID=23172[geroyche] yes [,kay, nien, dee,] haha, oh well [geroyche] basically he doesn't see any sense in publishing 20kbps mp3s [,kay, nien, dee,] if i understood maybe i could reply ... [san_san] but it says, kay nien dee tracks deserve being mentioned extra [geroyche] he says you force people on their knees within seconds with your unbearable distorted 8bit bleeps [geroyche] a very effective way for clubowners to throw people out [,kay, nien, dee,] bwahahaha like they are the worst of the worst !!! [geroyche] and he warns the reader that you run mp3death [san_san] kay, I am translating for you.... a sec [san_san] hehe.. ah [,kay, nien, dee,] thank you san_san [san_san] geroyche already gave a summary [,kay, nien, dee,] yes, maybe that's enough [geroyche] the first part basically summarizes how good archive.org is... but that it can also be used for digital guerilla acts ... such us 20kbps * ,kay, nien, dee, ... notorious [quiet|riot] mp3death [quiet|riot] great [quiet|riot] really great Gefiepse binnen Sekundenbruchteile wimmernd auf die Knie. Um euch vorzuwarnen: Dee macht das Netlabel MP3DEATH. Falls beim Hören dieser Tracks der Ohren-Death eintritt wendet euch mit Regressforderungen an Simon von Archive. (17:13) [san_san] (17:14) [san_san] this is the part, where his 'bla-bla' ends and the talk about the files begins... so this is what I translated... (17:14) [san_san] (17:14) [san_san] On archive, anything goes and everything has its place. Well, 20k is about presenting mp3s in 20kbps encoding. This will probably work very well on their assumed audience, cause 20k is a true gold mine for clubowners who are on a hunt for the perfect last dance-song for people who just wont leave. This release of Kay Nien Dee is especially effective and forces folks whining to fall on their knees with its unbearable 8bit distorted cheeps within seconds. (17:14) [san_san] (17:14) [san_san] To warn you in advance: Dee runs the Netlabel MP3DEATH. In case of sudden ear-death while listening to these tracks, ask Simon on Archive for compesation. (17:14) [san_san] -------------------- (17:14) [san_san] end [,kay, nien, dee,] nice! thank you very much! i wish i knew more languages (17:18) [san_san] you are welcome (17:18) [san_san] you know now, that you are a 'bad guy' *g* [,kay, nien, dee,] haha yeah!!!
