ok, i've got some critisism to throw on the table, but first off i'd like to say i enjoyed the ep and have played songs off it on my fm radio show here in minneapolis also... meekins ... you're from australia? do you know the shitwank guys or the rapkrew SUICIDAL RAP ORGY??? i love their kittyfucker video so much ... how about SENSE, a guy who makes emotional dance music (rather than idm i guess!) ? ? ? ok, getting to it: review style, i heard this when it came out now i'm just listening again after hearing yomi91 1st track--trashy elektro to a T w/ the kraftwerk-esqe synth bits ... my only complaint here is the synth-theme could have been a little more crazy. on the other hand, that may have tainted the simplicity and meekins signature. it's solid and moves along, i like the clairity of the vocals ... and the theme of a fun robot friend comes out in each part chimney, i really disliked the delay used in this track, and the pads didn't offer enough texture/substance for me to ever want to hear it again zarubin ... fun groove, still trashy and repetative (in a good way). backwords sounds are fun and the atmosphere is very nice. the vocal sample is a bit blunt and over-used, maybe it could have been manipulated differently through out to keep it form getting stale. it's nice at 2:33, doesn't give the beat long enough to get old hungybird, friendly story! the bird and flute samples compliment each other nicely, nothing new in the beat dept, some fills or something once in a while could be cool, or maybe if the snares were more powerful in the mix i'd be into it. since you re-used samples in this you could send it to mashup/reuse radio shows like "SOME ASSEMBLY REQUIRED" ... i'm sure jon who runs that show would like it frilly socks ... maybe i'm just fed up with ambient, but this track didn't do anything for me either. the backwards and creapy whispery voices were genuinly atmospheric but the repeated-laughing thing made me want to turn it off immediatly. helsinki, my fav track by far, i love the ANTHEM w/ the vocal sound, could have been mixed louder. i'm a real sucker for slower 4on the floor shit and the snare at the end of the bar keeps shit moving along in a true techno fashion, definitly the most danceable of the tracks here. then there's the signature meekins vocals, the sample-retriggering in this track isn't as blunt as some of the other stuff so it fits nicely. it's nice the beat changes near the end, but the way the breakdown repeates twice makes the death of the beat feel janky. over all, love the ravey anthems hid all over in it, rad!!! ---edit i forgot to mention how DANGEROUSLY POP that morning robot track is, i was singing it to myself as i went and got some hot water from the WC robot

Well, I guess at least I tried. Really not my thing. Panned basses, kicks...overall the sound is also just too simple for my liking, though I like the progressive aspect of it. Really reminds me of a twisted 'kid's world', which I hope isn't too offensive. It's as if the music really needs to 'grow up', or 'mature' for me to appreciate it more, though I suppose such a thing comes with experience anyway. It's just not complex enough, which quickly leads to dullness. Too "pleasantly insane" for me, I think.
